Discover the Best 10 Villas in Bali, Indonesia – WorldTravel365

Villas in Bali

Bali is one of the most romantic destinations in the entire world. The number of hotels, resorts, and villas have skyrocketed in the recent past. Over the past 20 years, a significant increase in the number of villas has resulted in some very unique buildings and offerings.

What are the best 10 Villas in Bali Indonesia?

  • Komaneka at Bisma
  • Kamandalu Resort
  • Hanging Gardens of Bali
  • The Bali Dream Villa
  • Kayumanis Ubud Resort
  • Viceroy Bali
  • Kupu Kupu Barong Villas
  • Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort
  • Menjangan Dynasty Resort
  • Bambu Indah

The best villas in Bali include Komaneka at Bisma, Kamandalu Resort, Hanging Gardens of Bali, The Bali Dream Villa, Kayumanis Ubud Resort, Viceroy Bali, Kupu Kupu Barong Villas, Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort, Menjangan Dynasty Resort, and Bambu Indah.

That’s a lot of options. However, there are hundreds (maybe thousands) more to choose from. As someone who has lived in Bali for a considerable amount of time, I can unequivocally say that these 18 villas are my favorite. If you’re looking for a beautiful spot for your honeymoon, look no further!

Komaneka at Bisma

Komaneka sits just beside the famous Ubudian Campuhan River (the nearby trail is a great place to hike/run). This hillside property offers a gorgeous view of the valley, coconut plantations, rice fields, and a number of giant palm trees. Less than a kilometer away, this is arguably the closest luxurious villa to Ubud’s Monkey Forest.

At Komaneka, you can find outdoor pools with a gorgeous view, a restaurant, a luxury spa, numerous private pools, and patios that offer an unparalleled view. These charming and modern suites offer outdoor showers, which are a must-try in Bali (don’t worry – nobody will be able to see you). Much to your husband’s chagrin, the villa offers free yoga classes and dance lessons.

They even offer a wedding chapel on site. If newlyweds get the urge to run, there is even a jogging track within the villas compound. It’s hard to find a beautiful and isolated villa so close to Ubud Town Center. It’s well worth the price.

Kamandalu Resort

The five-star Kamandalu is a boutique group of villas located in Ubud, near fields of gorgeous tiered rice fields. These villas are a stone’s throw away from the Tegallalang Rice terraces – a crown jewel of Bali and a world-renowned UNESCO World Heritage site. The villas and their proximity to one another were designed to resemble a traditional village. The proximity still manages to offer an isolated and romantic experience.

Hanging Gardens of Bali

The Hanging Gardens of Bali is arguably the most famous resort in Bali. Once you take a gander at the aptly named resort, it’s easy to understand why this is the case. The villas sit high above the jungle rainforest and overlook thousands of trees and a river whose sounds can soothe one to sleep in an instant.

The architect decided to design this resort with feng-shui in mind. One can really feel that intention in every room they enter. The roofs of these buildings are made with dried vegetation and offer a traditional, yet luxurious look. The hotel is most famous for the infinity pools that jet out over the jungle. These cascading pools are perched high above the rainforest and the views are jaw-dropping.

The Bali Dream Villa

Located in Seminyak, The Bali Dream Villa offers charming and luxurious accommodation without completely breaking the bank. Many hotels, villas, and resorts take a modern, Western approach to their design and architecture. Not here. The Balinese architecture is challenging to blend with modernity – but the Bali Dream Villa achieves it.

If you’re looking for a villa that is in close proximity to a number of boutiques, stores, and restaurants, Seminyak is definitely the right setting for you. The world-famous Legian Beach is only a 5-minute taxi ride away from this charming resort. We highly recommend the aptly named villa.

Kayumanis Ubud Resort

Villas are often tiny and lacking complete privacy, but that is far from the case at Kayumanis Ubud Resort – these villas are seriously spacious. Each villa offers a completely isolated experience with natural beauty and wonder. The jungle offers serenity and peace that can be challenging to find in certain parts of Bali.

The resort offers a beautiful infinity pool, a spa, a large kitchen for group cooking classes, The views of the rainforest are absolutely stunning and the wine bar on site makes these views all the more breathtaking. We highly recommend staying here – even though it’s a bit hard to pronounce.

Viceroy Bali

Viceroy Balidescribes themselves as ‘more than just a room’. They go on to say that the villas “provide the ultimate luxury experience from the moment you step through the hand-carved timber doors”. This resort is certainly pricey but well worth it.

They offer a traditional setting but ensure you have access to any single modernity you could possibly need. One of the interesting and unique features of Viceroy is surely the packages deal they offer. Whether you want a trip that focuses on gastronomy, wellness, culture, adventure, or romance, they offer a pre-arranged itinerary for every type of traveler. It’s great for those who don’t know how to fill their schedule (normally because there is too much to choose from).

Kupu Kupu Barong Villas

Kupu Kupu Barong’s website begins with a Nathaniel Hawthorne quote – “Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you”. This is exactly the type of place that Kupu Kupu Barong embodies. We don’t necessarily know what it means, but it’s certainly peaceful.

There are numerous awards that have been gifted to this collection of 39 villas. In fact, they have earned more independent awards than any other hotel in Bali. One of the most impressive awards has to do with their jaw-dropping view. Their rooftop restaurant was listed as one of the world’s top 50 tables with a view.

Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort

This cliffside resort offers villas that literally sit on the edge of a cliff. It’s an expensive accommodation but well worth the cost if you have the means. Uluwatu is known for cliff edges that drop hundreds of feet into the ocean with crashing waves underneath. It’s a rare treat to have access to these views without interruption.

It makes it all the better that you can enjoy the views from your villa jacuzzi. These penthouses are completely unparalleled when it comes to ocean/sunset views. If you want to stay in Uluwatu, we highly recommend this romantic getaway.

Menjangan Dynasty Resort

Many people don’t actually make it to West Bali. This means you and your loved ones can have access to a remote and gorgeous setting, with zero to minimal crowds. The West Bali National Park is renowned among locals because every visitor leaves with stars in their eyes. Numerous species of animals run free and can be spotted by tourists.

For the time being, it’s only posh French families who visit this tucked away paradise in Bali. They offer incredible snorkeling, hiking, and beachside glamping tents. We highly recommend this isolated destination if you wish to avoid the common surge of tourists.

Bambu Indah

We saved the best for last. Bambu Indah is legendary. The owner has actually appeared on Ted Talks to discuss how bamboo is the future of architecture/home-design. This collection of bamboo villas are made from locally sourced materials. It is brilliant and different – words cannot do these buildings justice.

The resort offers a natural swimming pool and sits on the edge of a river. Local farmers come to bathe their buffalo at 3 pm every day and one of the resort perks is that you can help them bathe the creatures! The hotel organizes rice field excursions and morning yoga.

If you can find availability, we demand that you stay here. Even if it’s just for one night, you’ll be glad you did.
